How to Apply

Healthy change is good for our students, their families and the community. Creating healthy change is not always easy, but the Network for a Healthy California—LAUSD (Network), is making it happen. And so can you.

This collaborative effort needs the support of many to be successful. Join us in our effort to empower LAUSD students to eat more fruits and vegetables and be active every day for better health.

LAUSD schools where 50 percent or more of the students qualify for free or reduced-price meals are encouraged to join the Network. Participating schools receive assistance in the form of awards, program opportunities and ongoing support.

Each year an Award Opportunity Workshop is scheduled in late May or early June to provide information about the Network. It is recommended that new and returning schools attend the workshop, and it is highly recommended that lead teachers, nurses and administrators new to the program attend.
