Nurses

School nurses are a very important and enthusiastic part of the Network for a Healthy California—LAUSD team. They work with students, school staff and parents and are some of our best advocates for fruit and vegetable consumption and physical activity.

Nurses from eligible LAUSD schools can apply for a Nurse Award at up to two qualifying schools that he/she serves. In return, the nurse must perform 35 or more hours of nutrition education at each of those schools from October 1 through June 30.
