Network for a Healthy California—LAUSD
2010–2011 Nutrition Education Funding
The Network for a Healthy California—LAUSD (Network) promotes the consumption of fruits and vegetables and encourages physical activity for better health. We work towards this goal by sponsoring programs such as Harvest of the Month, offering nutrition education workshops for teachers and parents, and providing limited funding opportunities to eligible schools to purchase nutrition education materials.
Who can apply to become a Network school?
Your school is eligible to apply for funding/participation in the Network program for the 2009–2010 school year, if all of the following apply:
o 50 percent or more of your school’s student population receives free or reduced-price meals
o Your school receives its food from the LAUSD Food Services Branch
o Certificated personnel are willing to coordinate the program at your school site
o Your school is willing to comply with the Network and funder’s guidelines
Note: School nurses may apply for a Nurse Award if their school meets the above requirements.
